All Tucker County Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay tomorrow 11/28/23 due to extreme windchill temperatures anticipated in the early morning hours. We will assess the situation in the morning and issue another call if warranted.

Good afternoon. This message is for Senior parents in regard to the FAFSA Workshop that we will be hosting this Wednesday, November 29th from 5:30-7:00 pm here at the high school. The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission will be here to give you an overview of scholarships, grants, and other financial aid. Most importantly, they can assist you in creating a FAFSA ID. This event is especially important this year due to the fact that so many changes have been made to the FAFSA process. We encourage all Senior parents to attend. Please be aware that you will not be filling out the FAFSA at this event. The FAFSA will not be opened until sometime in December. We will be holding another event in January for you to come in and complete the FAFSA. This is workshop is designed to give you information, answer questions you may have, and help you in setting up your FAFSA ID. Your ID must be created 3 to 5 days before filling out the FAFSA, so if you come and do that with us on Wednesday, you will be ready to go in January when the FAFSA is open. It is important to know that depending on how you filed your 2022 taxes, both parents may need to create an ID. This includes stepparents as well. The WVHEPC will be here during the afternoon to work with students to get their FAFSA ID created. In order for them to do this, the student will need to have the following information about their parents: the parents legal name, date of birth, social security number, and email address. Each parent must have their own personal email for this process. It is very important for us to know how many families plan on attending this event so that we have enough help. If you plan on attending, please go to the Tucker County High School Facebook page and click on the pinned post at the top of the page under featured. The registration link is in that post for you to reserve a spot. If you are unable to register online or if you have any questions, please call Mrs. Godfrey at the high school at 304-478-2651. We hope to see all Senior parents on Wednesday November 29th at 5:30.

This is a reminder that due to staff shortages with our photographer on Friday, leading to a cancellation, senior picture retakes will occur tomorrow at the school.

This is a reminder that senior picture retakes will be tomorrow November 9th at the high school.

1st 9 weeks report cards were sent home with students this afternoon. Please ask your student to see it and review it with them. If they do not bring it home or you need another copy of it, please contact the school at (304) 478-2651, and we will be happy to provide you with a copy of it.

Tomorrow from 3:30-5:30 are parent teacher conferences at the high school. At the event you can pick up a copy of your student's report card, and visit with your student's teachers.

Dear Parents,
Friday, November 3rd, is the 2023 fall sports senior parent night. We will be recognizing both parents and senior athletes in football, cheerleading, volleyball, and cross country. Lineup will begin at 6:25 PM on the 50-yard line on the side of the field near the board office. The recognition will begin at 6:30 p.m. Please enter the stadium through the front gate and give your names to the ticket takers so you can get free admission.
Thank you for your support of Tucker County Athletics.

Freshman through junior picture retakes are tomorrow. Students should dress accordingly. Please remind students, as our intercom system was down today and we were unable to remind students.

TCHS Families,
Please make every effort to send your student to school tomorrow, as tomorrow is PSAT testing day for grades 9 through 11. This helps ensure that students get fair practice for future state testing. Please help us by ensuring students charge their computers tonight, and get a full nights rest. Senior should use tomorrow to work on required job shadowing or volunteer hours.

This is a reminder that there is no school for students on Monday October 9, 2023. It is a Professional Learning Day for staff.

Senior picture day has been rescheduled to Monday October 2nd due to a staffing issue with the photography company.

Late last night we were alerted about a potential issue at TCHS. In order to allow our local law enforcement time to investigate and ensure the safety of our staff and students we issued a remote learning day for today March 27, 2023.
I am happy to report that the investigation showed that there was no threat to our school or any of our staff/students.
We would like to take this opportunity to praise our students for doing the right thing and bringing this to our attention. It’s always better to err on the side of caution. Remember if you see something say something!

With the change of semester occurring last week, we understand that there are students who have not received their new snow packets. Students should check their LiveGrades messages for assignments and/or for Google Classroom access codes that will allow them to access their assignments. If students have already added classes to their Google Classroom, they should check there for assignments.
If internet challenges prohibit a student from accessing assignments they have not been given yet, they will be provided once we return to school with appropriate deadlines to complete the work.

Good Evening TCHS Families,
Report cards were sent home with TCHS this afternoon. Be sure to ask your student to see their report card. If they do not have a report card, please call the school Monday, and we will be happy to get you a copy. You may also call the school Monday with any questions.
Have a great weekend!
