Next Tuesday, October 22nd, is PSAT School Day for students in grades 9-11 at Tucker County High School. As we prepare for this important day, we want to take a moment to celebrate some of our outstanding students who made us proud during the 2023 PSAT administration. Congratulations to Malia Cussins, Sadie Ends, Xander Lambert, and Damian Rhodes for receiving National Recognition Program Awards! These students achieved this honor by maintaining a GPA of 3.3 or higher, ranking in the top 10% among PSAT-NMSQT test takers in West Virginia, and being rural and/or first-generation college students. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the pride they bring to our school and community. We encourage all parents and guardians to motivate their 9th-11th grade students to strive for this recognition as well. Please ensure your student is present next Tuesday, October 22nd, arrives on time, gets a good night’s rest, and is encouraged to do their best on the test to showcase their full potential. Note: Seniors do not attend school that day. Instead, they should use the day to complete their required job shadowing for graduation.

TCHS has been challenged by Pendleton County High School to an attendance challenge! The principal of the school with the lowest attendance rate between September 30th and October 3rd will have to wear the other school’s colors on Friday, October 4th—Pendleton County’s Homecoming gameday. We’d love to see the Pendleton County principal in black and gold for their own homecoming! Help TCHS continue our winning tradition by ensuring your student is in school this week. Let’s Go Mountain Lions!
